July 2008
It’s fantastic to be hosting my clients at the
Triba Wellness Centre in Craighall
Park. This new venue allows you to have a cup of coffee in the sun or
use wireless internet while you wait for your reading, and to have your
children taken care of at a cost of R35.00. There is also a spa,
hairdresser, good security and ample parking space, so I look forward to
seeing you there. In celebration of my birthday month I would like to
give away one complimentary reading in Johannesburg (Cape Town will be
next!) If you would like to nominate someone for this, please see the
procedure below under Personal Readings.
Most of us are feeling the pinch at the moment (of the cold, the
interest rates, the price of daily living…), in my Bull’s Eye below ‘Why
aren’t You Knitting?’, I take a look at the often oversimplified idea of
manifesting what you want and why it doesn’t always work just to ‘think
positively’. The group reading this Saturday will also give you some
perspective on what is going on in the world at the moment and how to
navigate it. Group readings are the espresso of my work – an intense
shot of love and learning to keep you fired up! Please scroll down to
see upcoming events in Cape Town too, and an appetiser of my new,
pioneering workshop, Embody.
The current personal growth clubs are full, but as soon as there are
enough people on the waiting list, I will start another. So if you are
ever interested in joining a small, supportive group that meets once a
month to focus exclusively on their personal growth, please contact us
for an application form.
Much love (and warmth) to all of you

Group Reading
Our group reading in May explained a lot about the xenophobia that was
sweeping the country at the time, and also gave some fascinating
considerations about moving location, especially that ‘the group
consciousness you are moving into has more impact on your life than the
geographical location’. Group readings are affordable, un-intimidating
and great for newcomers to channelling. They tend to bring out brand new
information and will focus on what is relevant to that particular group,
and humanity in general, at the time. Everyone who attends also gets the
opportunity to raise their own question and we end the evening with a
chat and some sharing about what the reading has raised.

Transformation Game
Last month Garrick and I were reminded about the value and fun of the
Transformation Game. We hosted an evening for 7 fabulous ladies who
gained deep insights and took some big steps amidst lots of sharing and
raucous laughter. The Transformation Game was designed at the renowned
Findhorn Retreat and is a wonderful way to play out your life. You can
find new perspectives, test out your intuition and receive divine
feedback – all while playing a board game. Garrick and I offer
facilitated Transformation Game Evenings, which you can join as an
individual or as a group of 2, 3 or 4. We also host Game Evenings on
site for groups of 6 to 8 people.

NEW WORKSHOPS
What Does It Mean to be a Man?
Garrick, in his capacity as life coach, will be co-facilitating a
unique, empowerment experience for men in the Lowveld Bush from the 26th
to the 28th of September 2008. The other facilitator will be Stuart
Jensen, owner of Boondocks Mountain Lodge in Mpumalanga, which is also
the venue for the process.
This dynamic process-based weekend will make use of the surrounding
environment to elicit the maximum amount of learning for each
participant. The workshop will create opportunities for the men
attending to become more comfortable with themselves in terms of their
emotions, levels of trust, communication and will clarify for each
participant what it means for them, individually, to be a man.
If you, or the man in your life, would like to move towards
completeness, this is a powerful opportunity.
Date: 26 – 28 September 2008
Venue: Boondocks Mountain Lodge, between Nelspruit and Barberton
Cost: R 2 500.00 includes full accommodation and all meals
To book: Contact
Garrick at +27844608667.
EMBODY
A workshop for those whose hearts are big enough to fall in love with
their bodies.
Why do we have bodies?
How do our bodies serve us in our ‘higher’ purpose?
Why did you choose the body that you did?
How do you love an imperfect, ageing, disabled or diseased body?
How can you interpret the messages from your body?
Our bodies, like everything else, are communicators to us. They
communicate our divinity, in an immediate, uncomplicated manner. Our
bodies are as profound a source of wisdom to us as our minds and
spirits. They are faithfully attuned to our highest path, even though we
are ashamed of them, hate them and, more often that not, attempt to
control their expression.
"It is our bodies that are meant to shape us, not us who are meant to
shape our bodies."
Angela Deutschmann.
At Embody, we will have a close look at your relationship with your body
and uncover any disgust, disinterest or disguise. You’ll reflect on your
habits, hates and the things you do when you think no-one else is
watching. There will be no requirement to share or do anything unless
you wish to but the opportunity will be there to externalise and release
all your secret shames, practices and fears about your body.
We will be using unique, channelled processes, the splendour of the
natural environment (outdoor pools, stone labyrinth) and the power of
working in a small group to assist you to breakthrough that which
prevents you from being in awe of your body.
This is a workshop that will require vulnerability, courage and
compassion. It is designed to make you uncomfortable or scared, if any
fear or shame about your body exists in you. We are going to see, do and
share intimate and absurd things that will show you which area of
physicality is holding your resistance or repulsion. If you have it in
you to play, you can finally surrender your shame and self-hatred and
form an unconditionally loving partnership with your body for life.
It will also be available to know why you picked the body that you did,
how it prefers to communicate with you and what the different areas of
your body are attuned to (e.g. my stomach is where I store any
unexpressed knowledge and my upper arms carry my shame, but it will be
different for you).
If you are brave enough to fully see and own your own body,
compassionate enough to accept the bodies of others and wild enough to
fall unconditionally in love with your body – forever - then I invite
you to Embody.
Date: 17 – 19 October 2008
Venue: Boondocks Mountain Lodge, between Nelspruit and Barberton
Cost: R 3 000.00 includes full accommodation, delicious meals and
exclusive use of this magnificent lodge and labyrinth
To book: Contact Garrick at +27844608667.
The workshop will be kept very small and already has some attendants so
please book soon. 25% deposit secures booking.
Bull’s Eye
July 2008
Why Aren’t You Knitting?
Most of us have had the experience of praying for something that just
didn’t happen, despite grazed knees from all the grovelling, or
visualising something that just didn’t materialise, despite a whole
armoury of affirmations. Does this mean we just weren’t positive enough,
faithful enough, aligned enough or could there be other reasons why (to
put it bluntly) we don’t always get what we want?
Contrary to what some popular spiritual teachings are proposing, our
divinity is not a personal online shopper who receives an order from us,
fills it out to our demand and delivers it a couple of days later. I
agree that that’s kind of fun, but that’s why Woolworths exists, not
God. What exactly, do you think, is the grand meaning of human existence
if all we are doing here is, well, shopping? I’m all for making dreams
come true and embodying our desires, but that is the vehicle of human
existence, not the purpose. Let me expand on that subtle, but
significant distinction.
That car / wellness centre / full body massage / new Alanis Morissette
CD (I hope my husband is reading this) that you want is part (and
hopefully only part) of your desire. Our desires are encoded in our DNA
(the readings call them ‘the voice of your divinity’) and are very
worthy of our attention. Our desires, or visions, drive us forward, give
us focus, they essentially carve out what would otherwise be an
undefined life. But actually getting them, or achieving them, is not
really the point. Ask any world-weary celebrity or billionaire (even
Mother Theresa if you read her personal letters) if getting and doing
everything that you want makes you happy for ever after.
It is who we become in the process of making our dreams come true that
is important, not so much the dreams themselves. The masterpiece we are
creating is ourselves, not our lives, despite so much current focus on
having it all, reaching goals, making dreams come true. A spectacular
life, even one focused on service or spiritual upliftment, does not mean
much to someone who cannot love the self they have become in the
process. And that self is of course the only thing that travels beyond
this temporary world we live in, the rest is illusion.
That is why our divinity is far more focused on the process of reaching
our dreams than the dreams themselves. The universe, or God, or your
higher self (I promise it doesn’t mind what you call it) is interested
in how you develop and expand as you go about creating what you want. As
such, it’s far more likely that your visualisations of your dream job
will be answered by providing you with tools, insights and growth
opportunities rather than the job itself just landing at your feet.
This has been sweetly explained in the readings using two different
analogies. One was the image of a magic carpet. There are always magic
carpets around for us (i.e. vehicles for making dreams coming true) but
if you can remember seeing a magic carpet arrive next to someone, it
never lands completely flat on the ground next to their feet. Instead it
hovers just above the ground, requiring them to step up if they wish to
use it. The solutions to our problems or the next steps to our dreams
are always available but they will require us to step up in some way (to
our fears, our truth, our talent, new levels of commitment etc) because
that’s the point! The aim of this game of life is our stepping up, not
really what we get as a result.
I’ll conclude with the second, symbolic, illustration of this
understanding from someone’s reading, which puts it beautifully:
‘You keep on asking for a jersey [substitute lover / published book /
full bank account]. We’ve given you 50 balls of wool
already……………………..…why aren’t you knitting?!’
